Our Stage 16 results versus Todd Jarrett
Today we shot Stage 16 from the 2009 USPSA Nationals. I’ve calculated our Stage percentages as compared to Todd Jarrett, who topped that stage in the Limited match.
For purposes of comparison, I’m using Todd’s score from Nationals as the par:
| Shooter | Hit Factor | % |
| Todd Jarrett | 6.6731 | 100.00% |
| Jeff Bailey | 8.3458 | 125.07% |
| John Allen | 7.2061 | 107.99% |
| Brian Nelson | 5.9197 | 88.71% |
| Charlie Wotkyns | 5.0669 | 75.93% |
| Ken Nelson | 4.8061 | 72.02% |
| Steve Thomas | 4.321 | 64.75% |
| Eric Houston | 4.3149 | 64.66% |
| Micah Evans | 3.8647 | 57.91% |
| Steve Brown | 3.1875 | 47.77% |
| Bob Anderson | 3.0492 | 45.69% |
| Jim Meade | 2.8257 | 42.34% |
| Daniel Evans | 2.8229 | 42.30% |
| Reggie Starr | 2.4465 | 36.66% |
| Jon Christensen | 2.4278 | 36.38% |
| Rob Richards | 0.7947 | 11.91% |
| Ron Larsen | 0.775 | 11.61% |
Well, how about that – two of our shooters – Jeff Bailey and John Allen beat Todd Jarrett, and the world’s best, on this stage. Our 3rd place shooter, 12 year old Brian Nelson, would have had a top 30 score.
I don’t know about you, but I like seeing how we do against the best and hope that Jon & Jim will continue pulling stages from major matches.
FYI… Scores from Nationals can be found here.
Note: My original post of this used the WRONG stage data. Sorry about that.

6 year old practical shooter
Miko, geared up for 120 round stage
The London Telegraph had an article in August about a 6 year old Practical shooter in the Philippines:
Miko travels across the country participating in national junior competitions.
Competing against children ten years his senior (in the 9-17 age group), Miko is now looking to travel to America to test his talents.
For Miko’s father, Cresencio "Mike" Pascua Andres JR, the boy’s passion and natural ability for practical shooting has been carefully monitored by his family and shooting community.
"It is within the family and friends that Miko was influenced to love and enjoy the practical shooting sport," says Mike. "Because of his interest, we took turns in teaching, training and coaching him on the basics of the sport."
Cool… I’m impressed he can rack a slide at 6.
BTW: Practical shooting is one of the fastest growing sports in the Philippines.
