We also watched the final stage of the Lady’s Limited 10 Super Squad. Here Jesse Abbate launches into her final stage. She had a large lead, but didn’t play it safe and shot the fastest of the stage by about 2 seconds.
The window in the background is a port that opens on pulling the bar, to reveal a diabolical Texas Star that is rigged with a bar to be off center and guarantee a fast spin.

After the last match we did some photos for some promotional materials Bob is putting together. After a few different people cleared and quadruple checked her weapon, I got out front (and to the side) and took some pics.
Just a quick reminder that the Utah USPSA state championship is Sept 26 in Logan, UT.
http://www.idahouspsa.com/utah.pdf has details and the application form.
And to get you pumped, here is a video (from YouTube) of shooters from last years championship. I didn’t make this one. And you can turn the music down )-:

A fellow shooter e-mailed these images of Brian shooting in the 2008 IDPA Nevada State Championship:
IDPA and USPSA share a lot in common. The same safety rules and operating procedures, for example. The main differences, other than restricting the limited/open type guns, are that you have to shoot from behind, over, around, or under cover. That and you can’t drop magazines with bullets left in them. A lot of stages have you shooting while moving backwards (the idea being to avoid whatever is threatening you).
Brian and I shoot IDPA monthly in Las Vegas. If you want to tag along, just holler, we’ve got room for 3 other shooters to go with us.
The sports segment of an Oregon Fox network station did this awesome profile on our sport,

10 or 12 new videos were posted. Thanks to Adam for the footage.
This is one of a dozen or so videos added to the gallery. About 8 more are still uploading….
Click here to see them all.
This was the only video we took that came out. The one Brian took of me was an excellent study of the scorer’s back )-: I’ll work on video lessons for him…
Brian & I both had issues with our factory reloaded ammo this match. The quality really varied and some rounds hit the pepper poppers clean but didn’t knock them over. That + frequent jams made it a tough Saturday, but a good lesson learned.
If you want to post videos here, just e-mail me for access information. Or arrange to exchange a memory card or CD-ROM and I can upload them. I’m happy to do it.
Hope to have one of those hat cams next match…
I created a YouTube Channel for us to upload videos to. If you want the access information, just e-mail. Or give me the SD card or CD-ROM of videos you took, and I’ll upload them and announce them here.
Here are Brian Nelson and Pete Kuhlman working through the shoot house at 1911 Single Stack Lane…
My memory card ran out 2/3rds of the way through Pete’s run… I should have checked it and download the images before I headed out Sat morning )-:
