We will be using the Palm scoring now that I’ve found the scoring computer (dry and working – yippee!) after my unfortunate house watering incident.

Saturday:

I will be shooting in Cedar City with Drex’s club on Saturday. I plan to arrive there around 0900.  Departure here… TBD.  If folks tag along we generally meet up at St. Helens in Washington for breakfast and then carpool from there.

Sunday:

Sin City in Las Vegas is moving to Palm scoring, and I’ll be attending there to help them have a first successful use.  It will be a 6 stage classifier match only.

James Kelly, who shoots with us, will be hosting a  Nevada CCW class with an firearms instructor from Las Vegas at his Mesquite home on Sept 4.

The class is 8AM to 6PM with a lunch break.

James has a private range at his home, which is where you will be shooting.

As you may know, Nevada no longer accepts Utah CCW permits (because their law requires more shooting in the training than Utah requires).

So if you want to carry while in Mesquite or Vegas, then a class like this is necessary.

Weapons Training School is offering an Advanced Concealed Firearms Training Course on 25 September at the SUPR range.

Sin City Shooters will hold a special 6 stage classifier only match on 29 August.

I plan on attending with my new Open gun, and possibly with a G34 to clean up my Production rating.

A rare photo of me, taken by my brother.  Not a bad position, my left thumb is a little high, eventually it could get into the slide and cause a jam. I’ll watch for that.  This was in CA, so I’m shooting a Glock 34 (9mm) with CA legal 10 round magazines. What a silly state. Too bad they have such nice weather.

Setup starts with loading trailers at the Sports Park at 7:30 AM.  Last time, no one showed until 8:30.  Simply put, that’s not good.  If we have 3 to 4 people to load, we’ll be shooting before it’s too hot.

Load:  7:30 at the Sports Park.

SetUp:  8:15 at the Sheriff’s range. 

Shooting:  As soon as setup is complete (9:00-9:30)

Match:  73 Challenging rounds. 

Stage 1:  The Last Thing, 16 Rounds. 

Stage 2:  30 Yard Standards,  18 Rounds. 

Stage 3:  Quickie,  8 Rounds 

Stage 4:   Wobbly,  24 Rounds 

Stage 5:  Classifier CM 03-02, "Six Chickens,"  12 Rounds

About September 1 I was told by the Washington county roads supervisor that they were going to be done with their summer work and that he was still planning to come work on our range. keep your fingers crossed!!!!
